The Kirsop Farm News
WEEK 21
October 24, 2007
This is a big week of wrapping it up for us here at the farm, not just because this is the last CSA share and the last week of four day market, but also because tonight was the last middle school football game, starring Jonas. He will have more time for homework and relaxing and so will we. I just picked up the Joy Of Cooking 75th Anniversary Edition. Holy Cow, it really is like the bible of cooking, it is so big, voluminous, really, it should keep me good company all winter long. A nice warm fire, plenty of cookbooks and seed catalogs, and Genine is a happy girl. Colin, on the other hand, is already making plans to elaborate the deck and put in a door and some other crazy house thing. That man just will not stop working. Little Nigel just continues to be adorable and exasperating by turns, as is usual for a six about to turn seven year old sweetheart.
Thank you all so very much for your part in our season. We so appreciate your decision to support our family farm. We love to plan and plant things especially for our CSA members. We hope that you have enjoyed your produce and will choose to sign up for another season. You can register for next year at any time by sending a check for at least the deposit amount, 50.oo. We welcome your suggestions of crops to grow and even your least favorite vegetable reports. We take those with a grain of salt, as it were, because usually what one member hates, another loves. Seriously, in the same week, I hear comments that seem to cancel each other out, one wants more beets, another can’t stand the beets. Beets tend to arouse the most passion, followed closely by Chard, for most emotional reports elicited. Feel free to use the phone or email or snail mail to contact us with your valuable input towards making our farm the best it can be. Be sure to check the farm’s website, www.kirsopfarm.com, for new recipes and stories all winter long.
