Our flock consists of Southdown, Jacob’s Sheep, and crosses of the two. They were gifted from a friend in the summer of 2016. We had been feeding them our cull carrots for years before our friend had to move and the sheep came to live with us at our place.
Both the Southdown and Jacob’s Sheep are dual purpose breeds – useful for meat as well as fleece for yarn and skins for rugs.
We practice multi-species rotational grazing with our sheep, chickens, and pigs. Each animal takes and leaves different things that keep our pastures healthy, in turn keeping our land, animals, and families healthy.
Our lamb is only available in the Fall. Order a whole or half lamb for your freezer. The cost is $10 per pound, hanging weight, (plus cut and wrap fee). The average hanging weight is 40 pounds. Average cost for a whole lamb is $400, plus $50 cut and wrap fee for a total of $450. We ask for a $100 deposit to reserve a lamb. You can click here to download and print our Lamb Order Form.
